Site details (source of truth)
Site Details: {{SOCIAL_MEDIA_MARKETING_TECHNIQUES_SITE_DETAILS}}
This Privacy Policy applies to the website identified in the Site Details section above (the “Site”). If anything in this policy conflicts with the Site Details section above, the Site Details section controls.
1) Definitions
- “You” means any visitor, subscriber, customer, or user of the Site.
- “We,” “us,” “our” means the business or publisher identified in the Site Details section.
- “Personal data” / “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked with you or your household.
- “Processing” means collecting, using, storing, sharing, or deleting information.
- “Service providers” / “processors” means vendors we use to operate the Site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising, forms, spam protection, payments, etc.).
- “Cookies” means small files and similar technologies (pixels, SDKs, local storage) used to enable features, measure traffic, and support advertising/affiliate tracking.
2) Scope
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, where it goes, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It covers data handled through the Site and related communications (such as newsletters and support requests) described in the Site Details section.
3) Information we collect (tied to real actions)
A) When you browse the Site
- Device and log data: IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, approximate location (derived from IP), pages viewed, time stamps, referring/exit pages, and basic diagnostics (e.g., errors).
- Cookie and identifier data: cookie IDs and similar identifiers used to remember preferences, measure traffic, and (if enabled per Site Details) support advertising and affiliate attribution.
B) When you submit forms (contact, lead magnets, downloads, consultations)
- Contact details: name, email address, and any other fields shown on the form.
- Message content: what you type into the form, including attachments if you choose to send them.
- Context metadata: the page you submitted from, time/date, and basic anti-spam signals (e.g., IP address, device signals).
C) When you subscribe to email (newsletter/updates)
- Subscriber data: email address (and name if provided).
- Subscription and engagement data: signup source, confirmation status, email opens and clicks (where supported by the email provider), and unsubscribe status.
D) When you comment or post user-generated content (if comments are enabled)
- Comment data: comment text, name (or chosen display name), email address, website URL (if provided), timestamp.
- Anti-spam and moderation data: IP address and browser user agent string (commonly collected by WordPress and anti-spam tools), plus any moderation notes.
E) When you buy something or request paid services (only if selling is enabled in Site Details)
- Order and account data: name, email, billing address, shipping address (if applicable), order history, and product/service details.
- Payment data: payments are handled by the payment provider listed in Site Details; we receive confirmations and transaction references, not full card numbers.
- Tax and compliance records: invoices/receipts and related records required for accounting and legal obligations.
F) Embedded content and social platforms (if enabled)
Pages may include embedded content (for example, videos, posts, or widgets). Embedded content behaves like you visited the third-party site directly and can set cookies or collect data according to that third party’s policies.
4) Why we use your information (specific purposes)
- Operate and secure the Site: deliver pages, prevent abuse, debug issues, and maintain performance.
- Respond and support: reply to messages, provide requested resources, and handle support requests.
- Deliver newsletters and updates: send the emails you signed up for, including confirmations, updates, and operational notices.
- Measure and improve: understand what content performs, improve UX, and prioritize what to publish next.
- Monetize content: attribute affiliate referrals, measure advertising performance, and (if enabled per Site Details) run remarketing/interest-based ads.
- Comply with law: enforce policies, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations (accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements where applicable).
5) Legal bases for processing (GDPR/UK GDPR/EEA)
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases depending on the context:
- Consent: for non-essential cookies/tracking where required, and for marketing email where applicable. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Sections 6 and 10).
- Contract: to provide a product/service you request (e.g., purchases, paid services) and manage related communications.
- Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the Site; to understand content performance; and to monetize via contextual analytics/attribution, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: to keep records required by law (for example, tax/accounting retention) and respond to lawful requests.
6) Cookies, consent, and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Strictly necessary: core Site functions, security, load balancing, and consent-state storage.
- Preferences: remembering settings (where applicable).
- Analytics: understanding traffic, content performance, and basic usage patterns.
- Advertising and remarketing (only if enabled in Site Details): measuring ads, limiting frequency, and showing interest-based ads on third-party platforms.
- Affiliate attribution: tracking referrals so affiliate partners can credit the Site (see Section 8).
Cookie choices: If the Site uses a cookie consent tool (listed in Site Details), you can manage cookie preferences through that tool at any time. You can also control cookies via your browser settings (blocking or deleting cookies), but some Site features may break.
7) Analytics and advertising disclosures
The Site uses the analytics and advertising tools listed in the Site Details section. These tools typically collect device identifiers, cookie IDs, IP address (often truncated or handled per provider settings), and event data such as page views and clicks to help us measure performance.
- Analytics: used to understand which pages help users, where traffic comes from, and what needs improvement.
- Advertising (if enabled): used to monetize content and measure ad performance. Some advertising partners may use cookies/pixels for interest-based advertising and conversion measurement.
- Remarketing (if enabled): if listed in Site Details, we may run remarketing campaigns that show ads to people who previously visited the Site. You can opt out via cookie preferences and platform controls (see Section 10).
8) Affiliate links and attribution
The Site publishes marketing and monetization content and may use affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link, the merchant may set cookies or use similar tracking to attribute that referral to the Site. This does not increase your purchase price, but it can generate a commission that supports the Site.
Affiliate tracking is controlled by the affiliate partner and their platforms. Where required by law, affiliate attribution cookies are treated as non-essential and are controlled through the consent mechanism described in Section 6.
9) Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the Site and deliver what you request:
- Service providers/processors: the vendors listed in Site Details (for example hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising, forms, spam protection, payment processing, and affiliate networks).
- Legal and safety: if required to comply with law, enforce policies, protect rights, investigate fraud/abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
- Business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not publish your email address or private contact details on the Site unless you explicitly post them in a public area (for example, in a comment), and we recommend you do not do that.
10) Your choices and controls
A) Email marketing choices
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails, but we may still send non-marketing messages if needed (e.g., purchase confirmations or critical service notices).
- Preference management: if offered by the email provider listed in Site Details, you can update preferences through links in emails.
B) Cookie and advertising controls
- Cookie banner/preferences: use the Site’s consent controls (if enabled) to accept or reject non-essential categories.
- Browser controls: block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Platform controls: many ad platforms offer opt-out controls for interest-based ads in your account settings.
C) Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising where applicable (see Section 12 for California rights). Some functionality (like embedded media) may still load from third parties when you view a page that contains it.
Do Not Track (DNT): there is no universally adopted DNT standard. We use the controls described above (cookie preferences and GPC) as our primary mechanisms for privacy choices.
11) Data retention (realistic and purpose-based)
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, then delete or anonymize it unless we must keep it longer for legal reasons.
- Server logs and security logs: typically 30–90 days (longer if needed to investigate abuse or security incidents).
- Contact and form submissions: typically up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless you request deletion sooner and we are not required to keep records.
- Email subscriber records: kept until you unsubscribe; after unsubscribing, we may keep a minimal suppression record (e.g., your email address and unsubscribe timestamp) to ensure we respect your choice.
- Analytics data: retained according to the analytics tool settings listed in Site Details (commonly 2–14 months for identifiable event data), then aggregated/anonymized where available.
- Comments (if enabled): comments and related metadata may remain as long as the post remains published, unless you request removal and removal is feasible and lawful.
- Purchases/paid services (if enabled): transaction and invoice records are typically kept for 7–10 years for accounting and tax compliance.
12) California privacy notice (CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain data uses.
A) Categories of personal information we collect
- Identifiers: name, email address, IP address, cookie IDs.
- Internet or network activity: pages viewed, clicks, referral URLs, interactions with emails (opens/clicks where supported).
- Geolocation data: approximate location derived from IP address.
- Commercial information (if selling is enabled): purchase history and transaction details.
- Content you provide: messages, form submissions, and comments.
B) “Sale” and “sharing”
No sale for money: we do not sell personal information for monetary payment.
Sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising: if the Site uses advertising/remarketing tools listed in Site Details, certain identifiers and activity data may be “shared” with advertising partners to show ads based on activity across different sites or services. You can opt out through cookie controls (Section 6) and by using Global Privacy Control (Section 10).
C) How to exercise California rights
Submit a request using the contact method in the Site Details section. Include “California Privacy Request” in your message and tell us what you want to do (know/access, delete, correct, or opt out). We may need to verify your request using information reasonably related to your interaction with the Site (for example, confirming access to the email address you used).
You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law; we will require proof of authorization and verification of identity.
13) EEA/UK/Swiss privacy rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion (where applicable).
- Object to processing or request restriction.
- Request data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to submit a request: contact us using the details in the Site Details section. Use the subject line “Privacy Request” and specify what you want to exercise. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law and may request verification to protect your data.
14) International data transfers
If the Site uses service providers that process data outside your country (for example, the hosting, analytics, advertising, email, or payment providers listed in Site Details), your information may be transferred internationally. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and vendor risk controls to protect transferred data.
15) Security
We use practical security measures appropriate for a content and marketing site, such as least-privilege access, strong authentication where available, secure hosting configurations, and vendor-managed security controls. No website can guarantee absolute security, but we focus on preventing obvious risks and responding quickly if something goes wrong.
16) Children’s privacy
The Site is not intended for children under 13 (and under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us using the Site Details section and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
17) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated in a reasonable way (for example, a notice on the Site or via email if you are subscribed and the change affects subscriber data handling).
18) Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us using the details provided in the Site Details section above. If you contact us by email, include “Privacy” in the subject line and provide enough context for us to locate your information (for example, the email address you used on the Site).
